Co-fermented with 2% Viognier, this syrah is complex, full of blueberry aromas, sweet raspberry and black cherry flavors and the classic white pepper overtones on the finish. The wine was aged for 10 months exclusively in oak barrels from a variety of French coopers. These grapes from Lakeside Vineyard are a Hermitage clone.
Vineyard sites: Lakeside Vineyard, Jacksonville, Oregon; Serenade Vineyard, Ashland, OR
Food pairings: The Syrah's fruitiness is enhanced by salty and bitter foods - olives, lemon, eggplant, asparagus, greens. It also works well with pulled pork.
